Welcome to Year One, our class teacher is Miss Atkins also to help with our learning we have Mrs Wood and Mrs Amner.  In Year One the children are taught through a topic based curriculum with elements of continuous provision and play. Our current topic overview can be found on the link Space below.

Gardeners World 2017 - Curriculum Plan Summer

We promote positive mindsets and encourage children to have a go and challenge themselves.

PE is on a Monday and Wednesday and children will need a PE kit for this. Children need a bottle of fresh water every day and we have a snack of fresh fruit available mid morning to keep us going until lunchtime.

On Mondays we are taught by Mrs Ashwell and Mrs Wallis.

In Year One we have a star of the week and they get to take Barnaby Bear home at the weekend.

If you have any questions about what we do in Jupiter class please feel free to speak to Miss Atkins, Mrs Ashwell or Mrs Wood.

RE Day - Thursday 8th October (65 images)

The topic for our RE day was Why Harvest? We were visited in school by John from Barnabas who led each class in workshops thinking about the parable of the Sower. Years 1 through to 4 visited St Mary's Church and created a whole school collage telling the story (this is on display in the Church). Each class then did various activities which helped us thinking about Harvest and the food which is provided. Reception and Year 1 made fruit kebabs, Year 2 made soup and apple crumble while Year 3 and 4 made Harvest Sheaves from bread complete with a little mouse.
